As part of its long-term commitment to sustainability and energy independence, The Box Factory partnered with Charterhall Energy to modernise its facilities and reduce reliance on grid electricity.
The project was delivered in two phases. The first involved a complete re-roof of the company’s 1,220m² production facility using new metal corrugated roofing sheets, creating the ideal foundation for renewable energy generation. Once complete, our team designed and installed a 91kW commercial solar PV system tailored to the site’s operational energy demands.
The new system now provides more than 60% energy self-independence throughout the year and is capable of supplying 100% of the site’s electricity requirements during the summer months. As well as significantly reducing energy costs, the installation avoids approximately 18 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year, helping The Box Factory move closer to its long-term sustainability goals.
